Character-Based Summer Camp Visitors

The kids had a blast when the Folsom Police Department visited The Playmakers Summer Camp.

Thank you to Sergeant Lou Wright and Officer Jeff Hedgepeth for visiting our Summer Academy on June 29th. Our kids were treated to an informational and FUN event where they learned about safety, and were able to meet (and pet) a K9 officer. The officers were impressed with the insightful questions asked by our young Playmakers. We are so pleased to be strengthening our relationship with law enforcement and giving kids an “inside view” of how the Sheriff’s server our community.

This visit was made possible by Board Member Bill Hutto and his coordination with the Folsom Police Department.

The kids had lots of questions for the officers and got and up-close introduction to their K9 officer. Click to see the video!!!

Young people need peer support, not peer conflict.

The Playmakers has a mission to empower today’s youth to be the change in themselves, their families and their communities. Through mentoring and coaching character development, our young Playmakers learn what it means to be part of a team and have a pay-it-forward attitude in life. We mentor youth who are struggling with issues on the playground or academics. Our coaching give the kids powerful tools to apply during times of high-stress in their lives, to help them make better decisions for their future. Our program acts as support mechanism after the school day is done, and in the summer when gaps in learning can occur.

Driven by his passion for helping lost kids, The Playmakers Executive Director Greg “Coach Roz” Roeszler is paying it forward and forming Playmakers Communities in the Sacramento, CA, Buffalo, NY and Omaha, NE. If you would like to learn more how you can help, we invite you to contact us and volunteer at our next event.
