Harrison’s Playmakers: First Stop Buffalo, NY

May 4, 2019:

125 Lil’ Pups entered the field through a tunnel of 50 professional, college and high school football players and a standing ovation welcoming them to a day designed just for them.

The Buffalo Bills organization really stepped up, with Harrison Phillips driving the goal of letting the kids shine and giving them a day to remember. The Playmakers worked with the Special Olympics, Bornhava – a Down Syndrome Organization, and with Buffalo Inner City Youth Football to bring young football fans out to run offensive drills, play tug-of-war and race relays with volunteers from The Buffalo Bills football team and local High School Football Player Volunteers from Alden Central High, Cheektowaga Central High and Akron High School. The NY State Police and Windom Fire Department was also in attendance providing demonstrations and answering questions from the kids about their careers.

We are proud to be partnered with these organizations in Buffalo:

Bornhava, and early childhood center for Children with Developmental Disabilities

Special Olympics

City of Buffalo Youth Recreation Centers

Thank you to the Buffalo Bills team members and the volunteers who paid-it-forward on their day off and made this an extra-special day for the kids.

Playmakers made the news in Buffalo!

I AM A PLAYMAKER

FAMILY

I am a Playmaker. I have been blessed with coaches who care about me, pour into me, coach me hard, and love me.  Someday I may be a Mom or Dad. I will be prepared to finish the job and pay-it-forward.  That is what a Playmaker does, and I am a Playmaker.  I will not tolerate bullying, speaking negatively about someone, or being unkind.  Team means family.

ACADEMICS

I am a vicarious learner, a reader, and I value education for my future.  I will give my best effort in the classroom and you will see me graduate because I value education.  I understand that values are “things that are important to me.”

SERVING OTHERS

I am being built to serve others.   It is my job to serve others in our community and make it better for others.  I am built for others.  I am cared for and am learning to care for others. That is part of my job. Caring for others is what makes our community better.

WINNING WITH HONOR

I am a Warrior/Poet, humble but confident.  I am strong yet kind.  That is what a Warrior/Poet is.  I am beautiful. God is proud of me, crafted me perfectly, and is not done with me.

My coaches have invested in me and I will pay-it-forward to others.  I am a Playmaker – standing tall, serving others, winning with honor, loving family and exceling in academics.

Please consider a donation to The Playmakers on Big Day of Giving 2017

On May 4, 2017, The Playmakers will join non-profits all over the region in Big Day of Giving 2017.

On-going funding is vital to keep our programs running. From our trained coaches and Let’s Go Learn software licensing, to t-shirts and field trips for each young Playmaker. We are providing tools and support to make a difference in the lives of lost kids, empowering them to overcome life’s challenges.

Even a small donation can make a huge difference. This year, the minimum pledge is only $15, and that can be used for field trips or a pizza day reward celebration. Our programs are provided at no cost to the student or parent, so every dollar helps.

Since the beginning of Playmakers, our core mission has not changed. I believe in every generation, we desperately need youth of character who are built to serve others. By contributing to something bigger than themselves they, they learn their value and potential. Every youth we can affect will certainly be a Playmaker for life.
Sincerely,
Greg Roeszler
