We are very grateful for the generous grants and donations we have received from Optimist groups in the Sacramento Region.
Thank you to the optimists that have helped our programs grow and serve more students in the region. If you want to learn what it really means to give of yourself, contact your local Optimist Club and attend a meeting. Optimists know the true meaning of teamwork to make great things happen throughout their communities.
The Optimist Creed:
Promise Yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
Country Club Optimists
For 3 years this organization has been first to assist Playmakers in many ways. Country Club Optimists stepped up at a new level this year by funding Skycrest Elementary School. They are our first responders to Playmakers because they are a fun and special group of men. Jim Sewell, as well as the entire club care deeply for kids and our community.
Words are not enough to thank your club for the $20,000 donation presented at our 2017 Annual Tri Tip Dinner. The Playmakers Academy at Skycrest Elementary is now funded for another school year.
My Optimist guys are just amazing. Time and time again you guys show up with resources and you never say no to me. You are the club that broke the Optimist seal for Playmakers. Thank you for all you do, you have made a difference for our kids. I look forward to each Wednesday morning with you all. Thank you to Jim Halderman and Wally Borland who have opened many doors for us. Your on-going support is allowing us to reach more students.
The Optimist Club of Sacramento
This group participates in lots of community activities, and we hope to work with them to foster volunteering among our students.
